I am an interdisciplinary artist, presently focusing on found imagery or objects. I am interested in the human psyche and whether our responses to art come from an innate knowledge or acquired learning.  I have experimented with the manipulation of imagery, scale and viewer participation, gauging whether this alters perceptions of the subject matter.

We are told never to touch art in a gallery, and even as an artist I find it difficult to not touch the impasto paint on canvas. The same can be said for sculpture, if not more so due to the possibility of viewing the object from all sides. It’s not enough to look; to get a full experience of the object other senses need to play a part. Is it hard or soft, rough or smooth, cold or warm? The sense of touch helps to create bonds and influences how we engage with the object and how it makes us feel.  I want my work to be participatory to allow for a full experience and in order to enable a positive emotional interaction.
